2023 Youth Board Members
President - Samatha Lyons
Hi, my name is Samantha Lyons. I am from Lisbon, ND. I live on a farm just outside town where I raise corn, soybeans, rye, wheat, barley and have a diversified livestock operation of cow-calf, feedlot, goats and horses. I have two siblings; I am the middle between my older sister and younger brother. I have been involved with horses since a young age, enjoying trail riding, camping out and showing in local 4H shows. In the past few years, I have continued my showing career by attending AQHA shows and getting involved in the NDQHYA. Aside from riding horse I enjoy being a part of St. Aloysius church, FFA, FCCLA, Heart and Soul 4 H club, livestock judging, playing piano, and high school volleyball. When I have down time, I enjoy being outside, traveling, camping and hanging out with my friends and family.
Hailey Neumann is from Sabin, MN and is a sophomore at Oak Grove Lutheran School in Fargo, ND. She participates in basketball, volleyball, track and band. In her spare time she shows in AQHA shows over the summer with her partner Gideon, who is the grandson of her very first horse Maggie Mae. Hailey and Gideon will be showing in the 14 to 18 classes in 2023.
My name is Aspyn Thelen, I am 14 and I live in Garrison, ND. I am the Garrison FFA chapter’s treasurer and I currently have a job at Fort Stevenson State Park. I love being outside and spending time with my family and friends. I am excited to be on the board for the NDQHYA and what opportunities it has to bring.
The NDQHYA are looking for Y.E.S (Youth Excellence Seminar) delegates. Please contact Abby Stensgard for information.
